If you are short on money, there are ways for you to start your internet business for free, or low cost. The truth is that it will definately take you more time to start a successful home based internet business, but it can be done – it just takes longer.

Here are a few tips to get you started:

You can promote products from many marketplaces, as an affiliate, and earn a commission from each sale. Among the most popular ones are Clickbank.com, PayDotCom.com, and CommissionJunction.com. You can find plenty more if you search on Google or any of the other search engines.

Sign up at Squidoo.com or HubPages.com for free, and write about the products you are promoting.

Find a forum in your niche, and start making useful posts, including your affiliate link in your signature. When people have come to know you and your expertise, they will click your links and buy from you.

Place free classified ads anywhere you can! I know that Google loves the Free Classifieds from USfreeads. Just go to any of the search engines and search for free classifieds, you will find classified ad sites in every region of the world, pick what ever suits you.

Write articles and post them to article directories such as EzineArticles.com and GoArticles.com. Of course there are more article directories available, just Google them!

Bookmark your lenses and hubs in Web 2.0 sites such as Digg.com, Twitter.com, Technorati.com, StumbleUpon.com, and DropJack.com.

A hint – Make a Squidoo lens and / or a  Hubpages hub, and place an ad on your subject at Usfreeads with a link to your lens or hub. This is a real double whammy, because this gets you higher rankings in the search engines!
